Upcoming Events

It’s time to write again with Seattle7Writers!

Our October writing conference was so successful we’ve decided to do it every February, just when winter is at its darkest and writers have no good reason not to write. We won’t have time to put together a physical event in 2012, unfortunately, (though we will thereafter) but why should that stop us?

Join us Saturday, February 25, 2012 for

This time, it’s VIRTUAL!

  • Join us for a full productive day of writing from the comfort of your own home, public library or coffee shop!
  • Invite your writing group, a writing buddy, or go it alone.
  • Each hour, check for a fresh new writing tip on the Seattle7Writers Facebook page, including Jamie Ford, Erik Larson, Erica Bauermeister, Garth Stein, Jennie Shortridge, Kevin O’Brien, Laurie Frankel, Boyd Morrison, Randy Sue Coburn, Dave Boling, Carol Cassella, and more.
  • And if you would like to support Seattle7Writers and the work it does for literacy, we invite you to go to our website any time that day and make a donation.

Those of you who attended WHWN 2011 in October know the value of writing in 45 minute sessions with 15 minute breaks. Our nearly 100 attendees reported writing more and better that day than they’d imagined possible, and felt that input from our published authors helped them over many hurdles.

 Here’s how it will work:

  1. On Saturday, February 25, gather your kitchen timer or digital alarm, writing materials, and pull up the Seattle7Writers Facebook page. You’ll find special information there all day.
  2. At 9:00 a.m., set your timer for 45 minutes, then write until it goes off.
  3. Set the timer for 15 minutes and get up and take a break. Stretch, grab more coffee, read the new writing tip on the S7W Facebook page and post a comment. Tell us how it’s going!
  4. When the timer goes off again, sit down, set it for 45 minutes, and, yes . . . write!
  5. Continue this way for the day (taking a break for lunch of course) and you will be gobsmacked (yes, that is a guarantee) at how much you’ve written by 5:00 p.m.
  6. At any point during the day, please feel free to make a donation to literacy on the Seattle7Writers website.

Questions? Feel free to email us at info@seattle7writers.org.

We can’t wait to see you on Facebook, Saturday, February 25! If you can’t make the full day, join us whenever it’s convenient for you.

And make sure you let us know how it’s going . . .  We’ll see you in person for Write Here Write Now in February 2013!
